Forum ”Architecture and Nature” set the assignment during the work of “ArchMoscow 2010” exhibition. The objective is to develop the design of a light-weight pavilion or some exhibition stands design made of environmentally safe materials. The ecological sustainability development conception of Moscow Northern administrative district (park “Druzhba” together with Rechnoy Vokzal area) is to be worked out as well.

The assignment is a selection round that provides the participants with the opportunity to take part in the international workshop that is to be held at the beginning of October, 2010.
The competion results will be displayed in the Northern district of the capital on Moscow City Day celebration in September, 2010.
Besides, there is going to be an interdisciplinary scientific conference with architectural exhibitions in October. Presentations are to take place at “Manezh” during International Day of Architecture celebrations and international festival “zodchestvo”
Forum “Architecture and nature” will be represented at World UIA Congress in Tokyo, 2011 by means of young architects’ projects, presentations, reports and debates at Congress events as well as in expositions of UAR.
Each Participant is expected to carry out the assignment that comprises four parts:
1) To elicit area points of attraction (recreation places, entertainment, historical and cultural objects) and mark these objects on the general area map.
2) To propose an ecologically sustainable option for the development of this area.
3) To propose a place on a general planning scheme where it can be possible to display temporary exposition with works made by Forum participants. Be able to give reasons for your decision.
4) To propose a sketch of a stand construction for the exposition at the chosen lot.

Deadline for uploading the materials for foreigners who want to participate only in the international workshop -September 10, 2010 (in that case they will not be exhibited in the park on the September 4, 2010)

Terms of participation in the competition

After the consideration of the received information, the applicant will be accredited, personal account on the competition website will be activated for further work , the applicant will get passwords to download information on the website for: virtual exposition, presentation at award ceremony and CD-catalogue. The applicant may upload the materials on the website till August 20, 2010

The application for the competition should be done on the website www.mosma.ru./reg. All necessary actions for the registration are implemented by the applicant that is responsible for proper execution and reliability of indicated data.
NB! The main thing is to indicate correctly your e-mail address.
The applicant’s e-mail address is extremely important for organizing committee, so that they could be able to send passwords, notifications, invitations, etc. After registration any requests from authors group on the work of THE SYSTEM OF ELECTRONIC SUPPORT OF ARCHITECTURAL EVENTS will be considered only if there is a registered e-mail address. This is necessary for downloaded information security.

The organizing committee will translate it in Russian.
Technical requirements for image preparation
The size of each image must be 1000 pixel (maximal side), presented in a JPG format with Internet optimization. It can be done in Photoshop with the usage of the “save for web” function or “save in web-format”. Then the image will be of a higher quality and it will be much easier for viewing and downloading. (In this case it must weigh approximately 150 KB). Image names should be in Latin letters and digits. It will be impossible to upload a file if it is presented in other formats. We would like to pay your attention to the fact that you should upload the images one by one.
After the 20th of August we will ask you to upload or send by e-mail your images in high resolution to use them in press and exhibition.

Forum “ARCHITECTURE AND NATURE” is supported by UAR, UMA, Moscomarchitecture, UIA, IAA, Council on ecologically sustainable development of UAR, Moscow Municipal Duma and Council of Moscow Northern administrative district.
Key architects and professors of architectural Universities expressed a desire to participate in the project.
The objective of the present long-term extensive project is to learn ways to develop urban public and green spaces with the aim to work out an effective methodology of creating architectural urban area that will be qualitative, ecologically sustainable and convenient for people.
